Chet & Julie KoenOriginally from San Angelo TX, they are now living and working in Ashland, Virginia.Chet started making saddles in 1963 working for such great companies as R.E. Donahoe and Colorado Saddlery. Later, he opened his own shop in Desoto TX. When Chet and Julie met and married, it seemed natural for her to join the business. Working together every day, Chet and Julie make each saddle individually, with attention to detail and artistic talent that makes each saddle special. Koen saddles are technically amazing too. Chet has designed the close contact rigging that is used on many of their saddles and is always looking for ways to make their saddles the best possible. Chet and Julie married in 1974 and have a daughter and 2 grand children. They have never been much into horse showing, but are dedicated to making beautiful, comfortable, useful saddles at a great price. |
